Service
Reddit Ads management
Reddit is the rare ad platform where the audience can reply underneath your ad in public. That is the risk, and handled properly it is also the advantage.
What the service includes
- Account and tracking setup
- Targeting strategy
- Native-reading creative
- Conversation placements
- Comment moderation on ads
- Weekly optimisation and reporting
Paid Reddit fails for a predictable reason: brands reuse the creative from their other channels. A polished hero image and a benefit headline reads as an intrusion in a feed of text posts, and the comment section says so immediately.
What works looks like a post. Plain language, a specific claim, an honest limitation, and someone from the company answering questions under it within the hour.
What the service includes
Account and tracking setup
Reddit Pixel, conversion events, and the Conversions API where your stack supports it - so measurement does not depend entirely on a browser.
Targeting strategy
Subreddit targeting, interest and keyword targeting, and the exclusions that matter as much as the inclusions. Built from the organic research, not from the platform’s suggestions.
Native-reading creative
Written as posts, in several angles, with the honest-limitation variant always in the test set. It routinely wins.
Conversation placements
Ads placed inside the threads people are reading, which is where Reddit’s inventory is genuinely differentiated.
Comment moderation on ads
Every ad’s comment section is monitored and answered. An unanswered critical comment under a live ad is a paid liability.
Weekly optimisation and reporting
Spend, CPA, what we changed and why, and a straight note when a test failed.
How Reddit Ads compare to what you are already running
The useful mental model: Reddit Ads reach a community you can name, which search cannot do, at a cost that is usually well under search in niche categories. They are not a replacement for capturing branded search demand.
| Reddit Ads | Search ads | Paid social | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Intent | Contextual - the thread is the intent signal | Highest - they typed the query | Low to moderate |
| Targeting unit | Communities and conversations | Keywords | Interests and lookalikes |
| Creative that wins | Reads like a post | Reads like an answer | Reads like content |
| Audience can reply | Yes, publicly, under your ad | No | Sometimes, and few read it |
| Typical role | Reach a niche audience search cannot isolate | Capture existing demand | Create demand at scale |
How we test
Weeks 1-2: angles
Four to six creative angles across two or three community clusters, small budget, learning only. Nothing is optimised yet.
Weeks 3-4: consolidate
Kill what lost, rebuild around the winning angle, widen the communities that responded.
Week 5 onward: scale carefully
Raise spend in steps, refresh creative before fatigue rather than after, and keep one experiment running at all times.
Where the spend goes
Ad spend is billed by Reddit to your own advertising account. We never take spend through our books, which keeps the billing relationship, the data and the account ownership with you.
Questions we get asked
What is a sensible test budget?
Enough to get statistically meaningful data on four to six creative angles before judging the channel - in most categories that means a four to six week test rather than a two week one. We will size it against your CPA target on the call rather than quote a number that ignores your economics.
Can we run ads without doing the organic work?
Yes. Ads stand alone. They perform better alongside organic presence, because someone who checks your brand after seeing an ad finds real conversations instead of silence.
Do the comments on our ads have to be open?
You can turn them off, and we usually recommend against it. An ad with a live, well-answered comment section is doing something no other channel can do: showing prospects that you answer hard questions in public.
Who owns the ad account?
You do. We work inside your account with our own user access, which you can revoke at any time.
