Service
Reddit monitoring and reputation
Most brands find out about the thread from a customer. This is the service that means you find out first, and that the response is already written.
What the service includes
- Daily mention tracking
- Triage and alerting
- Response playbooks
- Public responses
- Misinformation correction
- Monthly sentiment report
Reddit threads rank, persist and get quoted by AI assistants. That makes an unanswered complaint thread a long-lived search result rather than a bad afternoon - and it makes the same thread, answered well, one of the better things a prospect can find.
What the service includes
Daily mention tracking
Your brand, product names, executives, common misspellings and your competitors, across all of Reddit - not just the subreddits you already know about.
Triage and alerting
Every mention classified: ignore, monitor, respond, or escalate now. Urgent items reach you the same day, in whichever channel you actually read.
Response playbooks
Pre-written, pre-approved responses for the complaints that recur, so a reply takes twenty minutes rather than three days of internal review.
Public responses
Where a reply is welcome, we draft it and post it from a disclosed account. Where it is not, we say so - some threads are made worse by a brand appearing in them.
Misinformation correction
Factually wrong claims about pricing, security or ownership, corrected with evidence, calmly, once.
Monthly sentiment report
Volume, sentiment split, recurring themes, and the product issues Reddit is telling you about before your support queue does.
When to respond, and when not to
| Situation | Our default |
|---|---|
| A factual error about your product | Respond. Correct it plainly, with a link to the documentation, once. |
| A legitimate complaint with a fix available | Respond. Own it, state the fix and the timeline, then deliver it. |
| A legitimate complaint with no fix | Respond only if you can be honest about why. Do not promise a roadmap item to defuse a thread. |
| Someone venting, not asking | Usually leave it. A brand account appearing in a vent thread reads as surveillance. |
| A competitor comparison you lose | Leave it, unless something stated is false. Arguing a preference is unwinnable. |
| A pile-on in progress | Escalate internally first. The public response should come from a named person, and it should come after the fix is agreed - not before. |
Crisis support
For the genuinely bad days - a security incident, a pricing change that lands badly, a viral thread - we operate as an extension of your comms team: reading the room hour by hour, drafting for a named executive, and telling you when the correct move is to say nothing publicly yet.
This is included as standing capacity in the retainer, not as a separate emergency invoice.
Questions we get asked
Can you get a negative thread removed?
Almost never, and you should be sceptical of anyone who says otherwise. Removal is a moderator or admin decision, reserved for content that breaks a rule - not content a company dislikes. Attempting to force it is the single fastest way to turn one thread into ten.
Will responding make it worse?
Sometimes, which is why the default is not always to respond. A defensive or corporate reply reliably makes it worse. A specific, honest one usually improves it, and the visible artefact afterwards is a company that answered.
What tools do you use?
A combination of Reddit’s own search, keyword alerting and manual review. Manual review is not optional: automated sentiment scoring is unreliable on Reddit specifically, because the site’s default register is sarcasm.
